High-protein bowls made with organic ingredients

We cook every morning and deliver at lunchtime. We use stainless steel in the kitchen and package each meal in containers that minimize contact with plastics and unwanted particles.

Bowli’s eight standards

Organic ingredients

They can help reduce dietary exposure to pesticide residues. [1]

Pasture-raised beef and chicken

You get beef from pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle and chicken with outdoor pasture access. These systems may result in beef with more omega-3s and leaner chicken breast. [2][3]

Nutritional balance and value

Recipes designed to combine macro- and micronutrients; we prioritize nutritional value over decoration. [4]

Fresh, minimally processed foods

Your lunch starts with fresh, minimally processed foods cooked that same morning. [5]

Portions that fit your goals

Your needs change with your appetite, activity, and goals, so you choose how much of each component you want. [6]

Cooked in stainless steel

Your food is cooked without nonstick coatings. We manage how our stainless steel is used and maintained to reduce what may migrate from cookware into food. [7]

Less contact with plastic

We choose packaging that reduces your food’s contact with plastic and the transfer of unwanted particles. [8]

Local ingredients

We buy from Colombian farmers to better understand where ingredients come from and document traceability whenever possible. [9]

Organic ingredients

  1. The effects of organic food on human health: a systematic review and meta-analysis of population-based studiesNutrition Reviews, 2024
    Conclusion
Across human studies, eating more organic food is consistently associated with lower pesticide exposure measured through biomarkers.
    How we apply it
We prioritize organic ingredients to help reduce that exposure in your everyday diet.
    Limitations
This does not mean zero residues or, by itself, prove a clinical benefit from Bowli.

Pasture-raised beef and chicken

  1. Nutritional composition of beef: a comparison of commercial North American grass- and grain-finishing systemsJournal of Animal Science, 2026
    Conclusion
In commercial North American samples, grass-finished beef had, on average, more omega-3s and a lower omega-6-to-omega-3 ratio than grain-finished beef.
    How we apply it
We choose pasture-raised, grass-fed beef and work to document its origin and production system.
    Limitations
Composition varied widely by production practices; the study did not assess Bowli’s suppliers or health outcomes.
  2. A meta-analysis comparing the composition and quality differences between chicken meats produced under the free-range and conventional systemsWorld’s Poultry Science Journal, 2022
    Conclusion
Across 39 studies, free-range chicken breast was, on average, lower in fat and higher in protein than conventionally raised chicken breast.
    How we apply it
We prioritize chicken with pasture access as part of our sourcing standard.
    Limitations
“Free-range” does not mean exclusively pasture-fed, and results varied considerably across studies.

Nutritional balance and value

  1. Dietary Diversity Indicators and Their Associations with Dietary Adequacy and Health Outcomes: A Systematic Scoping ReviewAdvances in Nutrition, 2021
    Conclusion
Dietary diversity works mainly as an indicator of better micronutrient adequacy, not as a general guarantee of health.
    How we apply it
We design recipes that combine food groups for their complementary value, not simply to add ingredients without a purpose.
    Limitations
The review does not validate Bowli’s recipes or prove that more variety is always better.

Fresh, minimally processed foods

  1. Ultraprocessed or minimally processed diets following healthy dietary guidelines on weight and cardiometabolic health: a randomized, crossover trialNature Medicine, 2025
    Conclusion
In a controlled trial, a minimally processed diet led to greater weight loss than an ultra-processed diet, even though both followed the same healthy eating guidelines.
    How we apply it
We build our bowls from fresh, minimally processed foods cooked that same morning.
    Limitations
This was an eight-week trial in 55 adults in England with overweight or obesity; it cannot predict individual outcomes or attribute them to Bowli.

Portions that fit your goals

  1. American College of Sports Medicine Joint Position Statement. Nutrition and Athletic PerformanceMedicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2016
    Conclusion
Sports nutrition should adjust the type, amount, and timing of food to each person’s activity, recovery, and goals.
    How we apply it
You can choose the amount of each component based on your appetite, activity, and goals.
    Limitations
This is athlete-focused guidance, not a universal ratio or personalized nutrition advice.

Cooked in stainless steel

  1. A systematic assessment of metal and metalloid migration from food contact materials: Evidence from plastics, metal cookware, stainless steel, ceramics, glass, and paper-boardFood and Chemical Toxicology, 2026
    Conclusion
Metal migration from cookware and food-contact materials depends on factors such as material quality, surface condition, and conditions of use.
    How we apply it
We cook without nonstick coatings and carefully manage the quality, use, and wear of our stainless steel cookware.
    Limitations
Stainless steel does not mean zero migration or absolute superiority; much of the evidence comes from simulants and laboratory conditions.

Less contact with plastic

  1. Assessing the Release of Microplastics and Nanoplastics from Plastic Containers and Reusable Food Pouches: Implications for Human HealthEnvironmental Science & Technology, 2023
    Conclusion
In the plastic containers tested, heat and storage time increased the release of microplastics and nanoplastics.
    How we apply it
We choose containers that reduce hot food’s contact with plastic and the potential transfer of particles.
    Limitations
The study tested specific materials under laboratory conditions; it did not assess Bowli’s packaging or clinical effects in people.

Local ingredients

  1. Promoting resilient and sustainable food systems: A systematic literature review on short food supply chainsJournal of Cleaner Production, 2024
    Conclusion
Short food supply chains can bring producers and consumers closer, improve transparency, and strengthen food-system resilience.
    How we apply it
We buy from Colombian farmers and document origin whenever possible.
    Limitations
Being local does not by itself prove that an ingredient is healthier or more sustainable, or verify Bowli’s traceability.
